A silly or coward Pendle MP?

Today I went to a public meeting with Gordon Prentice MP about Whitefield the ward that I live in. First of all I as a resident of Whitefield did not get a letter inviting me to the meeting and the only reason how I found out was because a friend informed me. Anyway I took the time out of my schedule and went to this meeting only to be shocked!

I arrived at the meeting a little early to be greeted by a large number of labour party members including an employee of Mr Prentice's. I signed in and then made my way to the back of the room, a bit like what Guido Fawkes would have done.

The Meeting started and weren’t we the residents of Whitefield in for a surprise, the MP only answered one question per resident and when he saw Lord Greaves nodding at a reply that he was giving he agreed to let Lord Greaves speak later. Well anyway the meeting continued people asked questions and Mr Prentice gave answers that didn’t answer the question or you could tell he didn’t have any idea what the answer is as he doesn’t care about Whitefield and never has done.

Anyway it came to a time when three people who live in Pendle and Lord Greaves were left to ask questions but for some reason the strangest of things happened. Mr Prentice ignored the three residents including myself and just looked at Tony Greaves and said "I and Lord Greaves can always meet up in Westminster and talk" and he left the meeting.

First of all Lord Greaves is the Liberal Democrats Pendle party agent so in theory he does own a property in Whitefield, this being the parties offices but he ignored that and refused to let Lord Greaves speak! Even if Nick Clegg was there Prentice should have let him speak because at the end of the day the Lib Dems own a property in the ward.

After saying this Mr Prentice just stormed out, but forgot his coat and came back again to get that. When he came back the second time I thought he was back to answer question, but weren’t I wrong! Mr Prentice got his coat and stormed of again.

Now first of all Mr Prentice lied to Lord Greaves and the residents of Whitefield as he did not let someone who he had promised time to speak express his views, which according to Lord Greaves were only the facts that Mr Prentice didn’t know!

Prentice has never been an impressive figure, fitting the bill for the quote used by Winston Churchill abour Clement Atlee when he said words to the effect of "an empty taxi pulled up and Clement Atlee got out of it". This could equally be said about Prentice.
