Ahmed openly attacks NHS Reforms

Liberal Democrat activist and campaign guru Mr Irfan Ahmed has today said that he believes it is time the government pulled out its reform package of the NHS and thought everything through once again. This call comes after Baroness Williams made her concerns known that the NHS would be privatised under new reforms.

Mr Ahmed also made his call after a number of known cases were highlighted which showed that many GPs in the UK couldn't be trusted to run a bath never mind the NHS in their local area as planned under NHS reform plans.

Irfan said:

"My message to Clegg and Cameron is this, pull your silly idea out and don't end our NHS with your privatisation plans. We want an NHS that serves the people and isn't full of competition and private companies that want to make a profit at the expense of sick people.

"As the NHS reform bill goes to the Lords I call on Lib Dem Lords to speak out against the proposals and I hope that the bill is defeated by the Lords.

"If Lib Dem Lords don't knock back the bill and just grin and hope everything is alright like the majority of Lib Dem MPs have done then I shall seriously consider my membership of the Liberal Democrats."
